Explore a range of perspectives and practical exercises for letting-go of the limiting effects of the judging mind, whilst connecting to drawing in refreshing and inspiring ways. The ideas and mindfulness skills are transferrable to all creative disciplines.

Explore a variety of practical drawing methods and mindfulness perspectives to free you from the limiting effects of the judging mind. During the workshop we’ll investigate methods for connecting to enjoyment, ease, a sense of meaning and greater objectivity in drawing so you can develop confidence and make progress in your work. This workshop is a valuable introduction to mindful drawing or a way for you to further integrate mindfulness into your drawing.

What will we cover

  • A range of practical mindfulness methods and drawing exercises to help you let-go of the limiting effects of the judging mind

  • A variety of drawing approaches inspired by artists drawings

  • Mindfulness themes to inspire new ways of relating to drawing, whilst (re)connecting to a sense of purpose, meaning, pleasure and play

  • Ways to review your work with objectivity and discernment so you can confidently make progress

  • Scientific research to help you cultivate perspective on the judging mind

  • Engage mindfulness approaches to help you release the limiting effects of the judging mind, when engaging in any creative discipline

  • Identify a toolkit of mindfulness resources and scientific perspectives to help you identify creative blocks and let go of them

Suitable for enthusiastic beginners to drawing as well as those with experience in drawing or mindfulness who wish to stimulate new directions, or deepen your creative practice.

Note: This workshop will be taught online. All you need is an email address, computer/tablet/laptop, a reliable internet connection and a comfortable place to work where you can also see the screen (note: your device will need a microphone, and preferably a camera)
