Buddhist Images
As a practicing Buddhist it is a great honour for me as well as a devotional/meditation
practice to create Buddhist images. I am able to create a whole range
of imagery including seed syllables, mantras, mandalas, buddhas and
bodhisattva.

‘I was ordained with
Amitajyoti and greatly admired the paintings she was doing on the
retreat so I asked her to paint Prajnaparamita for me. There are
not many images of her, mainly statues so this was a great opportunity
to have a painting of my own. In February, I met with Amitajyoti
and went to her studio to collect my painting. I was thrilled by
how beautiful and delicate the figure of Prajnaparamita is and I
loved the painting straight away. She hangs above my shrine, near
my bed and is with me in my thoughts too.’ Satyasri |

the possibility of commissioning a painting, then contact
me and we can talk through your idea, the cost, materials etc.
If you decide to go ahead we would then discuss your idea/feeling in
more detail.
You may have a clear idea about what you want or perhaps more of a general sense of something. Through talking it often becomes apparent that there is more of a sense of what you are looking for than you may think. It may be that colour is important to you for example, or a particular image – water, the sun or moon. It is possible to follow a traditional Sadhana or to be as experimental as you’d like – perhaps incorporating something of an artist whose work you really like. During this conversation we would discuss the paintings size and the materials which could be used, all of which will reflect the feeling and theme of the image.
Portrait Commissions
I have created many portrait commissions for individuals and love to
work in this way. I would generally if possible want to meet the person
and from there either work from life with the person sitting for me
during the painting process, or from photographs, preferably that I
have taken (although this is not entirely necessary).

It is possible to commission a piece of work for yourself or as a gift, you may want an image of yourself marking a particular stage in your life, likewise your partner, parents, children…. I am also happy to paint pets and deceased loved ones.
For both Buddhist images and portraits I have a minimum fee of £500.
